This lava flow was the turnaround point of a seven mile round-trip hike that we did to find giant tortoises. The entire way out I was sick as a dog, but by midday things were improving quickly, and as a result I think I saw a lot more beauty in this lava flow at the time then was actually there. It's still nice, but it's not quite the island paradise that I was seeing after nearly two hours of barely being able to walk.
