The area around the Pyramids doesn't open to the public until well after sunrise, so Skip and I rented horses and set out to watch the sunrise over the Pyramids from the desert. Unfortunately the Egyptian saddles were very different from Western saddles, and both of us came back bowlegged and rather saddle sore. The image of Skip and I being bounced on our horses as we galloped out of control over the sand dunes would be a sure winner on any of those funniest home video shows.
