This photo does a fair job of capturing the atmosphere that exists within the temple of Angkor Wat. The temple complex is immense, but it's the feeling of the place that is most inspiring -- looking down a 200 foot long hallway to see a Buddhist monk silhouetted against sunset, with the jungle down below, or finding a lone statue of the Buddha with its robes catching the fading light, were experiences that defined Angkor Wat much better than the tall temples and massive stone works.
