The section of I-70 that passes through southeastern Utah is probably the most remote stretch of highway in the lower forty-eight states. At one point it's about a hundred miles between exits, and the highway passes through canyon country that is breathtaking. I pulled off of the road here to do a bit of hiking and to try and get at least one photograph that showed off the beauty of the scene -- as far as I can remember this is the only time I've ever tried to take pictures from alongside an interstate.
