Grass and trees, perfectly exposed; buffalo, black as night. I think I've gotten maybe three decent buffalo pictures in my life, all the rest either look like black masses in beautiful surroundings or buffalo surrounded by white and faded meadows. I once read in a photography book that the hardest picture to expose properly is a buffalo with snow on its face, and I definitely won't dispute it.
