Devil's Golf Course

Devil's Golf Course

Location: Death Valley National Park, California
Date: 22 March 2003
The elevation of Devil's Golf Course is around two hundred feet below sea level. As a result any water in the area flows here and evaporates, leaving behind these salt / mud formations. When they're dry (which is most of the time) they actually have the consistency of brittle rock, and they're so uneven that walking on them without getting hurt is a major challenge.
