Marmots

Location: Sequoia National Park, California
Date: July 2002
Camera: Pentax ZX-50
When Jason and I arrived in the backcountry of Sequoia the marmots initially kept hidden. After watching us for about an hour they apparently began to get curious, and within a few hours they had decided that they were still the ones in charge and proceeded to chew on boots, dig around the tent, and generally rule the roost. When not causing trouble a marmot's favorite thing to do is to flop down on a rock and attempt to be as lazy as possible without going comatose, as demonstrated by the guy on the left.
