Tundra Flowers

The plants on the tundra were completely alien to anything I was used to, and reminded me more of the anemones and such that one sees while scuba diving. This particular bunch of flowers was about an inch high, and the bits that look like cotton-balls are actually a way that the plant helps to insulate itself. Apparently the cotton forms air pockets that warm faster in spring, giving the plant an extra week or so of growing time.
