Exit Glacier

Exit Glacier

Location: Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska
Date: 9 September 2002
Camera: Pentax ZX-50
This photo was taken from near the top of the four-mile one-way trail that goes from the terminus of Exit Glacier up to the Harding Icefield. It's a short trail, but it has a huge elevation gain (between two and three thousand feet) so it was a tough climb. The trail itself is one of the best I've ever taken -- Exit Glacier is on one side, a steep slope covered in flowers and mountain goats is on the other, and it ends with an incredible view of the icefield. I was loving life very much on this day.
