This photo was taken on the last day of a five-day trip I took into the backcountry of Denali. On this particular day I had planned on hiking about ten miles from my camping spot to Eilsen Vistor Center by following the park road, but this bear was hanging out in a blueberry patch near the road and absolutely refused to move. After five days of backpacking I didn't feel like doing more bushwhacking through the tundra, so eventually I flagged down a camper bus in order to get past him. The photo was obviously taken from the safety of the bus -- while on foot I kept quite a distance between myself and the bear.
