The vertical rise from Wonder Lake (2000') to the summit of Denali (20,000') is the largest of any mountain in the world. As a result, when the sun had long since set at my campsite the summit of Denali would still be catching the fading light, and it would occasionally glow a pinkish-purple color just before the light faded. Unfortunately this photo doesn't show the "alpenglow", but it's quite a sight to see.
