This photo was taken in late September, and the weather that day was the best I had during the entire trip. The park road had opened up to mile thirty as of mid-September, so on this particular day I drove as far as I could, parked the car, and hiked the additional nine miles along the road to Sable -- the view alone made the eighteen mile round-trip worthwhile.
