Amazingly, Badwater Basin is completely flooded &#8212; I was mystified, as what was previously <a href=\"\/photos\/american_west\/highlights\/pages\/b19-roll\/12-death-valley-badwater-salt-flats.html#top\">a bone dry salt flat<\/a> was suddenly a lake several miles long and a few miles wide.  The wildflowers near the southern entrance to the park were even more spectacular than elsewhere, but as has been the norm on this trip I didn&#8217;t get any pictures that really did them justice.<\/p>\n<p>Came to Vegas for dinner, ate very well, and it now looks like I&#8217;ll be heading back to Los Angeles to see a friend.
