{"id":3320,"date":"2011-10-13T21:18:45","date_gmt":"2011-10-14T04:18:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mountaininterval.org\/journal\/?p=3320"},"modified":"2017-06-08T01:07:04","modified_gmt":"2017-06-08T08:07:04","slug":"life-and-stuff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mountaininterval.org\/journal\/2011\/10\/13\/life-and-stuff\/","title":{"rendered":"Life and Stuff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s been little from day-to-day life that has warranted a journal entry recently, but here&#8217;s a summary of what&#8217;s new and notable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In addition to being <a href=\"\/journal\/2011\/03\/28\/we-liked-the-birds\/\">proud members of the Aquarium of the Pacific<\/a>, Audrey and I joined the ranks of the respected and revered members of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhm.org\/site\/\">LA Natural History Museum<\/a>.  For anyone out there questioning that decision, maybe you didn&#8217;t realize that museum membership is tax deductible AND they have a Tyrannosaurus named Thomas.<\/li>\n<li>After running daily for 241 straight days a mysterious knee injury has kept me sidelined for the past six weeks.  The doctor says nothing is seriously damaged, but her prescription of rest and anti-inflammatories is tough medicine for someone who had gotten used to running six miles every day.<\/li>\n<li>Work at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bodybuilding.com\">bodybuilding.com<\/a> continues and will probably do so well into 2012.<\/li>\n<li>Since <a href=\"http:\/\/jamwiki.org\">one side project<\/a> wasn&#8217;t enough to completely devour whatever free time I had I&#8217;ve also been putting together a <a href=\"http:\/\/jamguides.com\">travel web site<\/a> based on open-sourced content from Wikitravel.  JAMGuides is very nearly at feature-parity with Wikitravel, after which I&#8217;ve got some ideas that will hopefully lead to a rather interesting travel tool.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Audrey <a href=\"\/journal\/2011\/09\/29\/manly-destinations\/\">continues<\/a> to generate an ever-increasing list of journal entry suggestions on the fridge, so while there may not be much to report on in the life of Holliday, there should still be a few topics worth writing about to fill out October&#8217;s three planned entries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s been little from day-to-day life that has warranted a journal entry recently, but here&#8217;s a summary of what&#8217;s new and notable: In addition to being proud members of the Aquarium of the Pacific, Audrey and I joined the ranks of the respected and revered members of the LA Natural History Museum.
