{"id":3078,"date":"2011-06-30T11:42:08","date_gmt":"2011-06-30T18:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mountaininterval.org\/journal\/?p=3078"},"modified":"2017-06-08T01:10:13","modified_gmt":"2017-06-08T08:10:13","slug":"dookie-on-the-trail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mountaininterval.org\/journal\/2011\/06\/30\/dookie-on-the-trail\/","title":{"rendered":"Dookie on the Trail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s a summary of last weekend&#8217;s trip to the Bay Area:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Saturday night and Sunday morning turned into another <a href=\"\/journal\/2011\/05\/24\/on-safari\/\">Brother Day<\/a> event, with appearances from mom and the Skipper.  Arrival in Concord on Saturday afternoon involved an ever-so-delicious <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zacharys.com\/\">Zachary&#8217;s pizza<\/a>.  Following that, Aaron and I set off on a hike up Mt. Diablo that ended up being both scenic and tick-filled, with much sweating, many turkeys, a few lizards, and some dookie on the trail.  After rootbeer floats at <a href=\"http:\/\/edsmudvillegrill.com\/\">Mudville Grill<\/a> we cajoled Ma &#038; Pa into a little basketball, where Ma surprised us all with her underhand shooting prowess.  The festivities came to an end after a night spent at Aaron&#8217;s new temporary home in North Beach and a massive breakfast burrito.<\/li>\n<li>At noon on Sunday the <a href=\"\/journal\/2002\/11\/19\/palo-alto-california-14\/\">former roommates of Otterson Court<\/a> got together again for the first time in nearly nine years.  Unsurprisingly <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/JB_Straubel\">JB<\/a> was initially a no-show, but he finally arrived after being bombarded by incessant text messages and threats to toilet paper his house, apologized for being late, and redeemed himself by offering a tour of the <a href=\"http:\/\/teslamotors.com\">Tesla<\/a> showroom and headquarters.  From humble beginnings in the garage at Otterson and the living room in Glendale, JB&#8217;s cars have come a very, very long way &#8211; the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tesla_Roadster\">Roadster<\/a> is an awfully fun vehicle, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tesla_Model_S\">Model-S<\/a> is looking pretty badass.<\/li>\n<li>After the Tesla tour I got a late start back to LA, got stuck in traffic, and ended up getting home after 11PM.
