The quick and dirty summary:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I headed down to San Diego on Saturday night and the Goob and I went for a run around the bay before sitting down to a meal of Thai food and a hatefully respectful showing of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1226229\/\">Get Him to the Greek<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The thought-provoking question of the weekend was &#8220;What person, real or fictional, wanted something the most?&#8221;  After extensive consideration of everything from Woody&#8217;s quest for a twinkie in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1156398\/\">Zombieland<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0088247\/\">the terminator&#8217;s relentless pursuit of Sarah Connor<\/a>, Gollum&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0167260\/\">never-ending mission to regain the Ring<\/a> emerged as the victor.<\/li>\n<li>Sunday was spent at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdzsafaripark.org\/\">San Diego Zoo Safari Park<\/a>.  The park&#8217;s lorikeet exhibit was a highlight, and we arrived early enough that the lorikeet hunger meter was still on extreme.  Also, due to the open air habitats the park turns out to be a great place for native California animals, so in addition to the giraffes, elephants, tigers, red river hogs and Eric the baby rhino, the park was the best viewing of egrets I&#8217;ve ever seen, and also home to somewhere around sixty-three billion baby toads.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-main\" src=\"\/photos\/images\/2011-05-A\/5755_san_diego_safari_park_aaron_and_lorikeets.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\" alt=\"Aaron and the Rainbow Lorikeets\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"caption\">Aaron and the Rainbow Lorikeets.
