{"id":2667,"date":"2011-03-17T18:42:40","date_gmt":"2011-03-18T01:42:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mountaininterval.org\/journal\/?p=2667"},"modified":"2017-06-08T01:15:13","modified_gmt":"2017-06-08T08:15:13","slug":"writers-block","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mountaininterval.org\/journal\/2011\/03\/17\/writers-block\/","title":{"rendered":"Writer&#8217;s Block"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The hope that March would <a href=\"\/journal\/2011\/02\/28\/this-is-mainly-filler\/\">yield journal-worthy moments<\/a> has not been fulfilled; things remain slow in the world of Holliday.  The most notable events over the past weeks have been the bi-weekly trips to Park City, Utah to be onsite at <a href=\"http:\/\/backcountry.com\">Backcountry<\/a>.  The specific project that they brought me back to work on has since been postponed until later this year, and in the interim I&#8217;ve been relegated to a &#8220;fill-in&#8221; role, helping out where needed.  Some days have seemed a little long.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron left <a href=\"\/journal\/2010\/12\/23\/934-miles\/\">Vail<\/a> to take a new job in San Diego, making a monthly brother get-together a certainty.  Sadly the major attractions located halfway between my home in Culver City and his abode in San Diego are a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikivoyage.org\/wiki\/Orange_County_(California)\">sprawl of stripmalls<\/a> and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/images?q=san+onofre+nuclear+generating+station\">nuclear generating plant that looks like boobs<\/a>, so our outings might not be as exciting as one would hope.  Still, never bet against the Holliday brothers finding <a href=\"\/journal\/2010\/05\/31\/guys-where-are-we\/\">odd ways of entertaining ourselves<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And lastly, because it would be a shame to end a post without pictures of little dogs in motion, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.buzzfeed.com\/daves4\/basset-hounds-running\">photos of basset hounds running<\/a> single-handedly justifies every dollar that has ever been spent to create the internet.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.buzzfeed.com\/daves4\/basset-hounds-running\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/s-ak.buzzfed.com\/static\/enhanced\/web04\/2011\/3\/15\/20\/enhanced-buzz-11919-1300233841-5.jpg\" alt=\"Basset Hound Running\" class=\"img-main\" width=\"374\" height=\"560\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"caption\">Basset hound at full speed.
