Moose! Finally! A mother and her calf appeared along the road in Denali and then wandered to within six feet of my passenger window. They were so close that I could not only tell the mother’s eyes were bloodshot, but I could see the individual blood vessels.<\/p>\n
Tons of rain today, although I still did a bit of hiking along Savage River in Denali. After a morning in Fairbanks the car has fresh oil and the tire is patched, so all is well. Also, the day’s most important discovery, surpassing even the moose sighting, was butane for my stove at the Denali mercantile.
